Work Areas

     The study areas of the center were determined as "powder metallurgy" and "additive manufacturing" subjects and related science fields. These areas and the targeted studies are generally stated under the following headings;

 

     1. Powder Metallurgy: In "Powder Metallurgy", which is related to the Basic Fields of Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics,

- Metal powder production and characterization

- New metal powder development

- Development of metal powder production methods and technologies

It will be ensured that basic and applied engineering studies are carried out and the postgraduate education program is developed.

 

     2. Development of Additive Manufacturing Technologies: In "Development of Additive Manufacturing Technologies", which is related to the Basic Fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Engineering, Physics,

- Nationalization of additive manufacturing technologies based on Laser Sintering / Melting

- Nationalization of additive manufacturing technologies based on Electron Beam Melting

- Nationalization of hybrid additive manufacturing technologies

- Improving the technologies in the components of the additive manufacturing system and improving the technology to increase the sintering/melting working speeds

- Nationalization of software used in additive manufacturing technology

It will be ensured that basic and applied engineering studies are carried out and the postgraduate education program is developed.

 

     3. Product development using additive manufacturing technologies: In "product development using additive manufacturing technologies", which is related to the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Naval Engineering, Materials Engineering and Electrical-Electronics Engineering;

- Design and manufacture of products that cannot be produced with traditional production technologies

- Topology optimization

- Design and manufacture of functional elements with additive manufacturing technologies

- Design and manufacture of electro-mechanical systems with additive manufacturing technologies

- Repair technologies

- Standardization and accreditation of products manufactured with additive manufacturing technologies, on-site use and increasing usage areas,

It will be ensured that basic and applied engineering studies are carried out and the postgraduate education program is developed.

a) It will be ensured that international joint project studies related to the activity areas of the center are carried out.

b) It will be ensured that the double-advised, double-degree joint doctorate program related to the activity areas of the center will be carried out.
